Review: Dr Nick Lowe Spot Gel
This stuff is great in an emergency, here’s what Dr Nick Lowe has to say about his Spot Gel…
Targeted and instant action! The perfect anti-bacterial gel to keep blemishes under control. The high potency of the anti-bacterial active ingredients helps fight the causes of skin breakouts. Can be used 3-4 times a day, dab directly onto spots.
- Salicylic Acid to effectively target blemish prone skin
- Willow Bark, Tea Tree and Thyme for their anti-bacterial properties
- Arnica to help soothe and reduce inflammation of blemished skin
- Vitamins A, C and E
- Dermatologically tested
- Allergen free fragrance
- Non comedogenic
The Dr Nick Lowe Spot Gel is clear, runny gel that you can apply directly onto pimples to help calm and deflate them before they turn into absolute monsters. Applied 3 or 4 times a day, the gel has been brilliant at quickly getting rid of any annoying pimples that pop up on my face. It contains exfoliators and antibacterial properties to sterilise and clean out the blemish without being too harsh on skin like Benzoyl Peroxide treatments (like Oxy).
Love this stuff, I always have a tube of this lying around the house. At £9.18 it’s pretty good value for money too – you only need a little bit to coat the pimple.
Negatives? If you want to deflate a pimple quickly, you really do need to apply this 3 to 4 times a day. It doesn’t flake so there’s no worry about white patches on your face but be warned that this will begin to dry the area out which’ll leave it looking a bit flaky. I find it works best when massaged on top of a very simple moisturiser to counterract the dryness. Don’t use this on large patches of skin.
All in all, a good product to have in case of emergencies!

Thanks for a good review. I think the advice to not use it over too big an area is sound. All salicylic acid products do this, but they are only doing any good when they come into contact with the pores.
