DolceGabbana SS111 Hair Tips from Head & Shoulders!

Dolce&Gabbana SS11- White flakes on a black suit is a no-go...

Fringes and side-parts were all the rage during the Fashion Week rounds this season and Head and Shoulders Grooming Stylist Michael Douglas is here to show you how to get the looks! What do you think, guys? Will you be giving either of these a shot this year?

Nicholas Hoult 1047763a Hair Tips from Head & Shoulders! The Side Parting:

Geek chic has never been cooler, and the side partings at D&G SS11 screamed Don Draper. Low maintenance and easy to achieve, key points to consider with this cut are how far over you want the parting – an off centre parting creates a totally different look to a parting that is right over to the side.

One of the reasons this look is set to be popular is its versatility – you can ramp it up or tone it down simply by changing the product you use. Wet-look gel will work as well as a more matt wax or putty so play around with what suits you.

Just remember that this look has a severe parting and flakes would ruin your look, so take precautions and use head&shoulders shampoo which targets the cause of dandruff from the first wash.

BURBERRYPRORSUM SS11 MEN 1 Hair Tips from Head & Shoulders! The Textured Fringe:

The hair trend that dominated the menswear shows for SS11 was the long, soft, textured fringe, seen at shows from Philip Lim to Burberry Prorsum.  To avoid your hair looking flat, ensure it is freshly washed with head&shoulders, and to create movement rough dry your hair, ruffling it with your fingers as it dries.

Hold the fringe in place with a small amount of matt-look product, hair putty or wax is ideal. Apply this sparingly and gently with your fingers to the ends (take care not to apply too much as this can make it heavy and lifeless), pulling the fringe over to your chosen side, or use your fingers to break up the fringe.

Give ‘em a go tonight with the products you have lying around and tell me how you get on! I’m going to attempt the side parting tomorrow… Nick Hoult I aint but here’s hoping I don’t end up looking like a complete fool!

  1. Eusebio says:

Great post, neat page layout, carry on the great work

  2. Geek chic is back! I would love to rock the slick side part although my curly hair wouldn’t complement the look. Instead, I’m opting for the longer cut similar to Vince Chase from Entourage (before he cut it off, of course).
