Keeping it fresh with Sure Men and Wingman
Body odour. Among one of the most searched-for terms on SCforM during the summer and it’s pretty obvious why – nobody wants to reek! Working in London and having to take the Tube to and from work every day, i’m no stranger to body odour and sweat patches. Not only does it look bad (especially, say, in a meeting or interview) but it looks like you don’t make much effort with personal hygiene – even if you do!
So here are two must-haves for anyone looking to fight the funk:
Sure Men Maxiumum Protection
If you tend to sweat more than most men, you want the reassurance of knowing that your protection is working harder for you.
The Innovative TRIsolid? technology in Sure Maximum Protection responds to your body chemistry, offering scientifically proven wetness protection, encapsulated odour technology and even an effective moisturiser to help prevent skin irritation.
This stuff is hardcore. Probably the best deodrant i’ve ever tried, the Sure Men Max Protection completely prevents both sweating and odour - even during 14 hour days i’m completely dry and smell fresh! To be honest I’ve skipped a day when using this because it seems to work for about 48hours even with showers because it leaves a bit of a tough film on the skin.
Now I don’t sweat more than the average but I’ve given a tube to my stepdad and it’s managed to prevent the massive sweat patches he usually gets on his shirt after work. The scent is a non-offensive man smell, quite strong but it dies down almost instantly. It does exactly what you expect a deodrant to do and it does it well – recommended!
Next up, Wingman Male Deodrising Wipes.
A premium wipe loaded with:
* Soothing Aloe Vera
* Cooling Peppermint Oil
* Invigorating GinsengHelps to remove dirt, bacteria, excess oils and bad odours that can build up throughout the day.
Add a bit of class to your Whore’s Bath! These wipes are a clever idea executed amazingly well. The Wingman deodrising wipes are souped-up versions of regular wet wipes. Firstly, they’re huge – big enough to cover large areas quickly and the material is thick and strong. They feel cooling when swiped over skin (thanks to the peppermint) and they smell pretty amazing. It’s quite a generic man-scent but I’ve passed these around the office and the girls love how they smell. Need to buy a new box because they’ve stolen so many…
These are perfect to whip out and give yourself a quick wipe down if you’re feeling a bit gross and need to smell clean and fresh in a hurry. Not ashamed to say that these came in handy when I was hungover and almost-late for work. Perfectly fine to use on your face too. Like I said, clever idea and for 8 individually packaged wipes for £3.49 from Boots, they’re a steal.
There you have it, two simple products that’ll keep you feeling and smelling fresh through the day!

Review: Dermalogica ChromaWhite TRx®
There are some people who just sweat to excessively. I’ve found that drugstore deodorants do nothing for me, in fact their smells just add to mine creating a wilted flowery death bomb….
You can buy OTC, or online extremely strong pespirants that actually make you stop sweating, thus no smell. Two that come to mind are Certain-Dri, and Driclor. However both are quite expensive, it’s approximately £20 for a 30ml roll-on, which you apply at night, wash off in the morning, and apply your normal deodorant.
I’m on Driclor right now and it works – only problem is that it makes your underarms itch like a motherfuuuuhhh-
Also, Mitchum is another good deodorant, they maximise the amount of potential order controlling ingredients within it. It’s a green can.
Sure actually do a women’s version of the Men’s Maximum Protection – I’d say go with the stick since it’s a bit more tenacious. They advise using it at night too actually… I haven’t smelt it but it’s a lot cheaper than £20 so maybe worth a shot?
Thanks for the other tips – really useful
I’ve actually already bought/used the Sure Max. woman’s version a long time before I used Driclor.. ‘Cotton Fresh’ one. It didn’t work, sadly
Though, I think men’s versions of deodorants are better because men tend to sweat more.
I blame my dad’s genes. He sweats even when he eats spicy/hot food. Like crazy. I blame him so much.
