Here’s something I came across earlier this week; a lightly hydrating, mattifying and acne-treating moisturiser – sounds awesome, right? This should also work very well for skin prone to ingrown hairs or irritation from shaving.

I gave this to an acne-prone friend months ago but they only just got round to using it and reported back with rave results. Looking back at the ingredients list I can see why – this definately gets the SCforM thumbs up.

This is a light, non-greasy moisturiser that contains 2% BHA which is fantastic for unclogging pores and soothing acne, irritation and ingrown hairs if you have them. The formula is pretty simple with calming cucumber extract so I daresay this would be great even if you have sensitive skin.

Anyone with clog prone skin that’s also a little bit red. This is a nice moisturiser that’ll help with breakouts too. Another benefit to this product is that the light formula controls oil really well – handy if you have oily/shiny looking skin. You can use this day or night.

If you have dry skin you might find that this is doesn’t work for you since it does absorb oil in order to mattify the skin. Another problem I found is that if you layer any products on top of this (sunscreen or makeup) it does have a tendancy to roll up into tiny balls on the skin. This doesn’t happen all the time though, I think the trick is to let it dry on your skin (give it a few minutes) before applying anything else on top.

Overall I think this is a fantastic drugstore find, it’s not always easy to find a product with 2% BHA listed on the packaging and this happens to be one of them in a pretty nice formula too! A nice alternative to the Paula’s Choice and Stridex BHA products I mention so often here on SCforM.
