HUGO (partnered with the fantastic Pur Projet organisation) have recently launched a pretty cool new campaign called ‘One Fragrance, One Tree’, they’ve released two special edition versions of their famous fragrances HUGO Element and HUGO Man and for each box you buy – one tree is planted in the Amazon rainforest in Peru.

The tour launched in London’s Covent Garden on Wednesday 17th March and travels to Bluewater in Kent (19th – 21st March); Bullring in Birmingham (26th – 28th March) Meadow Hall in Sheffield (2nd, 3rd and 5th April) and Centre MK in Milton Keynes (9th – 11th April) before returning back to Covent Garden on 15th April for a grand finale, where the pop up trees will turn the cobbled pavements of Covent Garden into an urban jungle for the day.
How it Works
The special pack editions feature a new outer pack design for HUGO Element and HUGO Man. On the back of each pack is a scratch-away panel which reveals a personal tree code that customers can enter online at www.hugo.com to discover the exact location of where their tree will be planted.
To bring the project to fruition, HUGO Fragrances has partnered with Pur Projet; an organisation that specialises in working with brands to facilitate projects that help small-scale farmers’ cooperatives all over the world to develop sustainable agro-culture methods.
The special edition bottles will be available to purchase in the UK from March 17th 2010 until stock lasts. The plantation funded by HUGO Fragrances will cover an area of 800 hectares; equivalent to 7 Hyde Parks.

Sounds good, right? Let’s talk fragrances.

Hugo Man

Hugo Man is a fresh, clean combination of fruits, herbs and aromatic pine and is as distinctive as the man who wears it.

Most guys have probably already tried Hugo Man, it’s a woody, green and spicy scent that manages to smell both fresh and slightluy musky at the same time. I can’t really think of any word to describe it other than ‘manly’. Ladies seem to love this one too, check out this review on makeupalley.com:
Love, love, love this colonge. My partner has been wearing it for years. It is such a turn on. Enough said, got to go see him now.

‘Enough said’!

Hugo Element

A fresh, modern, masculine scent, is inspired by the energy of the 4 elements.  The creative starting point was the scented interpretation of a piece of granite stone, which is formed by the direct effects of all the elements – created from Fire, becoming part of the Earth, weathered by Air and Water.
The fresher cousin of Hugo Man, Element is a very clean, crisp yet interesting blend. I can smell a bit of ginger and cedarwood that lends this very fresh fragrance a woody edge. This is a great no-brainer scent.
So, if you’re going to buy Hugo Man or Hugo Element – make sure you buy a limited edition one and save a little patch of rainforest with your purchase!
