Dealing with oily skin (continued).
I’ve already discussed a few methods to control a shiny nose/forehead throughout the day (which you can read through here) but today i’m going to discuss two recent finds.
Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral Powder Sunscreen

This is a handy tool for people who can’t seem to get sunscreen to work for them, be it because of excessive shine or because of irritation from sun-filters. You simply shake the tube so that the brush becomes saturated with powder and then remove the cap and brush over your face. It’s very simple to use and it gives the skin a nice matte finish. I like that it’s fully portable with no additional brushes or compacts to carry around. In addition to that it contains salicylic acid which is a BHA – excellent for use on easily irritated skin, acne prone skin or skin that has recently been shaved. The only downside is that it provides average protection. I had a friend with sun-sensitive skin try this on a recent holiday to Hong Kong and while his skin picked up some colour, his skin did not burn or turn red at all with reapplication twice during the day – sounds like a success to me! This comes in both SPF30 and SPF45.
Shiseido Men’s Anti Shine Refresher
A cooling gel that promotes a shine-free & fresh looking skin,Helps skin combat the adverse effect of excessive oil. Provides long lasting protection against oily breakthrough.
And it does exactly that. You apply this gel as the last step in skincare before you leave the door and the result is skin that stays shine-free for hours. You can even re-apply this midway through the day if your skin is especially oily. Thumbs up on this one!
